In a lot of cases, once someone has decided to suicide, they're happier. They've made their choice, pretty soon their troubles will be over.
The pilot sounded very apropos to me. He was gonna take one hell of a ride, and then it'd just be over. He was a little disappointed when he completed the barrel roll, he was glad he accomplished it, but then he "thought it would be over".
After that, he should have tried a loop and a hammerhead stall...then made the big decision.

Right. Contrary to pop psychology, a significant portion of suicides showed no signs if depression. In fact, they weren’t depressed. They just let their death instinct take over prematurely, which only happens to most people in the final days of their normal life, when overtaken by old age, disease or other physical circumstances.
