Took me too many decades to learn that. Childhood wasn't all that fun, for me.
Hard to know the rules when nobody tells you. My childhood was fun at first, and then at my 9th birthday it was like OOOPS! Just Kidding! This is what life is REALLY like! And then... fighting, divorce, drinking, abuse, remarriages, dangerous school, dangerous sibling, stepsiblings. Guess the joke was on me huh.
