I like situation for SITU, though. Isn't how the military abbreviates it?

In legal jargon, in situ means at the site where it is, e.g., “the boulder that fell and crushed my client remains in situ on the golf course.”

Mil use is 'sit' as in 'sitrep' a situation report. Lazy folks who like to use less syllables sometimes use 'sitch' for situation.
