Kilgallen was a gossip columnist, meaning current news and events were her forte. The rumor was she had blockbuster info on Ruby, which she had obtained shortly after the assassination. If she had had any real info, she would have used in when she got it and not wait almost two years.
I am almost finished reading Bugliosi’s book on the subject. As a long time conspiracy buff, his book has changed my mind 175 degrees.
Growing up in Detroit in the 1960’s, they never played any of her serious movies on TV that I remember. I do remember watching Some like it Hot, however. It wasn’t until I was an adult that I could appreciate her beauty and recognize her fragility.

I’ve been introducing classic movies to my 12 year old grandson. Last year I showed him Some Like it Hot, and about halfway through he says “granny, she’s more pretty than any other actress. True story.
Funny, I felt about her a lot like Elton John did (or Bernie Taupin, probably). Kindly and sympathetic and we didn’t want to get into her pants. That she didn’t wear. So much good fortune, so much bad fortune, for the same person.
For sheer looks Marilyn certainly was up there. I personally thought Tuesday Weld but she never achieved the fame.
A lot of the stars of the last 30 years have been attractive but they must be making it on their acting ability as thy are pretty but not Marilyn pretty. Maybe one exception is that slightly Spanish looking actress with blonde hair who seems to be in water and boat pictures a lot. Have a mental block.
