I’m way out of the loop so please forgive this question.
When/where was D5 decided to refer to avalanche?
A search of google, 15 pages, brings up cameras, missiles, vitamins, paper sizes among other things but never mentions avalanches.
I know I’ve read that explanation several times, I just don’t remember why it was decided.
Back in May when it was first posted

Seriously, count me as one who is not convinced. I can easily imagine D5 as having a meaning that is not yet disclosed ... and that a Future INDISPUTABLE meaning (such as prominently featuring the term in the 20 pages) will be another proof of Q, i.e., Future proves Past.
I prefer to think it represents DEFCOM 5.
Because on 10 May they posted “The snowball has begun rolling - there is no stopping it now. D5.” and somebody noted D5 was the highest avalanche danger level, so it made sense.
