Thank you for your prayers! That was exciting, fire burned by about 1/2 mile, thank God for a wind change and the CDF. Could hear the flames rushing when a digger pine stand would go up, probably close to 100 feet up at times. 2 MD-87 air tankers saved the day painting orange stripes of retardant which knocked the fire down quick. Prayers up for those neighbors whose property was affected, don't know if any structures were burned although it looked like it. This was the Bumper Fire and looks likes it's pretty well contained. Also had another fire north of here in Pilot Hill at the same time - Omega Fire. Could have been a lot worse...

I subsequently looked up the El Dorado fires on Calfire but couldn’t get back to the thread until now.

Thankfully you are safe.

There were two huge fires in Mendocino, NE of Ukiah and Willits, now merged into one fire at least 30,000 acreas, and cause is “under investigation” which translates to “human caused” usually. Carelessness or arson?
