The Drive, in great detail, and with several updates, tries to prove conclusively that these were artifacts of a helicopter flight, and indicates that the images were time-lapsed every 40 to 45 seconds. Certainly looks like a missile, but wouldn't make sense in a time lapse, since such a missile would definitely be out of the frame in less than 20 seconds or so.

not true, the further away the camera is the greater the field of view would cover
for example in the diagram below at ten feet from the lens the field of view is ten feet wide, but at a hundred feet the view is 100 feet wide, therefore a camera 5 mile away would have a field of view five miles wide.
