It was a post by an original poster (OP) on FR and it was pulled as being ‘fake’ only I saw nothing fake about it. The subject may have been a fake creation but there was nothing in the thread that nailed it as fake.

This is how it seems to work. There are some extremely codger-ish folks on FR...it's like their life (and I'm not referring to JimRob). They see something that just looks too out there, totally outside their frame of reference, and they freak!
They want the rep of FR to be golden. I can't blame them, but they ignore the fact that new ideas and ideals don't just drop from the trees. Sometimes there's dirty work involved.
Remember when people would talk about Area 51 and the .gov trying to make "alien" stuff..and we were all sure those people were kooks? And then it turned out those people were right all along.
So anyway, the brand purists here will run to JR and start hissing in his ear...and JR, like any good parent will do when the kids are fighting in the car, occasionally pulls the car over.
Sometimes we're lucky and he just scolds us and deletes posts. Occasionally, when we give him too much sass and don't listen (even after he's said "Don't make me stop this car!") he puts us out of the car and makes us walk home.
So the brand purists feel that they are acting in FR's best interest. If this were a Catholic school (nuns and rulers) they would be taking the right actions. But, I kinda think this is more like public school, some learning going on in the classroom (the regular thread) and a whole lot more going on out in the parking lot, in our cars...with loud music and various kinds of smoke. We are the kids no parent wants the public to see.
But, our ideas are good, and in the end, we will be accepted as "normies"...right?
Now, cue up the Credence Clearwater Revival, and pass me the lighter!
and if you get all the mixed metaphors, you probably graduated in the 70's!
