At first it alarmed me, as well. Grandson and his parents live very close by Gold Beach. I am in Orange County, CA. Lots of earthquake practice.
Typically, not that type of quake swarm in that location???? Hence, the idea it was some sort of operation by the good guys at that site.

My father used to say a swarm like this was good news. It’s when the plates stick and it takes a major shift to move them. Then you get one big tremor instead of a swarm of little ones.
It’s not horrible logic depending on what is doing the moving. Can’t apply that logic to Yellowstone or Hawaii for instance.
For some reason, in the back of my mind, I believe I have read there is a volcano under the ocean in that area.
Or speculation of one. It was quite awhile ago that I read that and can’t find any confirmation today.
Cascadia subduction zone is a time bomb waiting to go off, looks like the activity is in this area
