Please define your use of "Natural Born Citizen", so I can understand what you are saying. There are two that are in circulation out there:
The Low Bar: Anyone who was a citizen-at-birth.
The High Bar: Additional requirements include one or more of the following, on-top of being a citizen-at-birth:
- born inside the boundaries of the USA, being either:
- being born inside the boundaries of states and possessions of the USA possibly including or not including various places (Canal Zone, Puerto Rico, D.C. etc.)
- OR being born inside the boundary of one of the 50 US States, exclusively, after it achieved statehood.
- having a father who was a citizen of USA at the time of birth,
- having a mother who was a citizen of USA at the time of birht,
- having both parents be citizens of USA at the time of birth
- having both parents be citizens of the USA at the time of birth, and neither have dual citizenship at that time.
- others and etc.
Not really looking to rehash all this, just wondering which defintion you are using?
At least for Obama the Low Bar was sufficient, which implies it may be again, regardless or your or my personal beliefs about what the phrase "Natural Born Citizen" in the U.S. Constitution means.
