This really has to do with ones view of their own importance and mortality/immortality.
Like W.E.B. Dubois, when one looks at his early works before moving to the south one sees a person that is conservative Christian and would fit in well as a College Republican. After being exposed to racism in the south, his American Experience bubble is burst, he becomes the penultimate SJW, founds the NAACP, takes up the banner of Communism/Socialism in order to foment an overthrow of an evil system of inequality (so he can take his rightful place in society). The choice is always 1) In God’s Time, or 2) In man’s time.
This is the problem with HRC, her Sunday school members from the Methodist Church in L.R. Thought she was ‘such a wonderful teacher’. How does one go from an apparent strong faith (stand by your Bill) to the occult, spirit cooking, seeking Eleanor, Arkancide? 1) In God’s Time, or 2) In man’s time.
If ones Christian faith does not allow us to look forward to Christ’s coming even if it is today because we seek worldly fulfillment in this life then we are not “in Christ as Christ is in the Father”. We are to seek the truth (Jesus) and He will set us free ( from the worries and cares of this world) to seek His heavenly kingdom first, the rest is just stuff.
We are free to worship The Creator or the creation. Choose ye this day whom you will serve. You will be known by the fruit on your tree!
There are many in the church today with no fruit or poison fruit on their trees. Father forgive us and set us on the path of righteousness Amen.
Good post. As far as HRC, was she being real in LR or later in life? God will sort that out. Her life has been dedicated to politics so I can imagine, though can’t know for sure, that her SS teaching was expedient for the time just as Bill showed up on Sunday morning with a huge Bible when he needed to. While I am not their judge, I am called to be discerning.
Great points. Thanks.
