That’s very stereotypical of you.

Performing an activity as a means to wind down from the stresses of work or whatever, doesn’t make it an escape from reality. Yes games can be a distraction, but so can any other hobby or activity. It doesn’t mean it is an escape from reality.

General Franklin led the charge at the Battle of Dee Day when the Union beat the Confederates in 1943.

“General Franklin led the charge at the Battle of Dee Day when the Union beat the Confederates in 1943.”

Well, at least you got that right.

I like cooperative modes. You can have family and friends joined in missions, building,surviving.Like Subsistence where my daughter and I enjoy its cooperative aspect.I agree about multiplayer mayhem as it’s not my cup of tea either.Running around shooting everyone is not fun in my gaming world.

I am around level 45 playing Skyrim VR. The resolution at around 480, which seems necessary to handle a 90 frame rate, suffers in comparison to playing the game on a PC. But once you get past that, the immersion is incredible. You move from situations where your character is in danger to the feeling that YOU are in danger.

“I play about 15 hours weekly”

Like 38% of a work week at a computer game?

With your resume’ you could be doing better things than that:

helping Trump make America greater;
volunteering at a charity;
coaching kids at a Little League;
teaching poor kids how to fish;
working with a Church group;
helping the widow neighbor fix her pipe leaks;
writing letters to the editor

Life is short.
You can go to every cemetery in the land and not find a single tombstone where it’s carved:
“I wished I spent more time on my computer games”

"I have only played a racing game in a multiplayer setting."

Same here. TDU and Race07. New PC is just a laptop and can't do The Crew, Asseto Corso, iRacing, etc. so I guess I'm done....

So true. Here's another one I like...Minding your own business is a full time job.

I had no clue as to what this was about, but now I see it’s video games...

Last video game I played was Pong and that was about 35 years ago...

I have better things to do with my life since I left childhood....

Fallout 76 can still be played by yourself. They’ve made that quite clear- it’s basically a fallout 4 co-op/multi expansion.

Yes but in a world with no human NPCs. So just gouls and deathclaws and rad scoprions. Cool I guess. If you do come across humans, you aren't by yourself anymore, you're just alone because every human is a player and you might be about to die.

They've also said that you can't really choose your server so you you will get put in with randoms, not alone. Until they do private servers. So you can be the lone wanderer but I don't think it's true you can really play offline, by yourself. Just without friends.

A lot of people didn't like Fallout 4 because you couldn't really role play, you were in a preset role and you had to play it that way. if you wanted to be evil, too bad. This lets you be a raider and join a group of raiders if you want, then you can go grief other players all day and night. Or for a police faction and go fight raiders. Or be a trader. In principle all that's good but I'm jaded by other online games that just quickly devolved into "kill or be killed" games.

I’d much rather be actively playing a video game than sitting in front of the TV watching someone else play ...say football or baseball.
Life is too short, I want to DO, to be ACTIVE, not passively sit like a sponge and watch someone else doing/living.

So you are more like me...You don’t play video games...

You go out and really play golf...
You go out and really hunt...
You go out and really fish...
You go out and backpack, camp, and hike...
