I used to work for a company that was automating the controls for Chinese nuke plants. Company policy was any computer going in doesn’t come back. It was guaranteed to be corrupted. What I assumed then and warned people to no avail was that when we did this they would demand the source code. I don’t know if they did but based on what I’ve learned the past year I think they did. They got it one way or another.
