:It is not a lie to keep the truth to oneself. D.C. Fontana

Maybe not, but it is a sin of omission.

That is true. I’m not even sure if she said that as it is kind of a stupid quote and so much quotes today are made up on the internet, but I thought it did relate to her predicament of having to hide her gender just to get work in Hollywood. But on the other hand, when I lived in New York city, I lived next door to a TV producer who told me the sexism stuff was all crap, that the time frame for coming up with new TV episodes is so small that they would have used a chimpanzee as a writer if a chimp could write a good script, meaning in the TV world, at any time a show could be cancelled and they are not going to waste their time on petty crap like a writers gender. All they care about is product product, and if it isn’t done that’s careers finished. I tend to believe that. I’ve been in those high pressure situations before and petty crap goes right out the window. I think maybe she changed her name to DC Fontana more to stand out. She claims Gene Roddenberry told her to change it to the initials because network execs didnt like female writers which is utter crap I believe
