But only when theres no other way out.
Disagree. Respectfully. Where my children and grandchildren are concerned my right to protect them starts with any threat of bodily harm.
And it depends on where you are
Cletus quote, "I'd rather be judged by 12 than carried by 6" grows exponentially when it could be my precious grandbabies carried by 6, or worse in the hands of the depraved, demon-spawned pedophiles being discussed today.
A fellow I knew from the gun range took out his gun during a street argument with a man who scared him. He was absolutely CRUCIFIED for doing that and lost all gun rights for life.
Couple of red flags there. First my dad, then every self defense and gun class I've taken has said "Don't show the gun unless you empty it. Then change mags and empty that one too." So why did this guy just wave it around? Was he scared or just escalating the argument trying to show off that he was tougher. If scared why not defend himself? Where in the US was he and why the heck did he not have a competant attorney?
I'm sorry, this sounds like some of the leftist's scare tactic stories I've heard when I've gone to Austin in support of 2A legislation. I understand you to say this is a person you knew personally and his treatmemt sounds terrible. But it goes against what I've been taught about responsible personal protection.
Admittedly, I am in a state where every LEO I know advocates for legal gun carrying and ownership. Tragically, illegally and unconstitutionally not all states have the same view.
MA.
I built the website for Arming Women Against Rape and Endangerment, and was invited to a movie showing of women and guns. My friend has been writing articles for the group for decades. This gentleman was attending and told me the first hand account of his experience that I had heard about from my friend.
He’s a small man, and I really can’t judge if he was actually scared or trying to stop the argument cold. But MA laws are brutal for pulling out a gun.
