Lyby, dont forget to tell us the Cheetos and gasoline funny. I know what you mean about your comment Cant tell you how many times a problem has been solved in a way I never thought about - I am always learning, too! Lately I dream more than I ever have with many questions answered. I was mopping the other day and just out of the blue there was an answer I was seeking for a time.
I’ve set deadlines based on the faith that an answer would suddenly spring full blown into my head. I really believe much of problem solving goes on subconsciously. It’s a terrifying way to work, but it seems like what is actually going on in those funny heads of ours. Showers are another good place for those answers to suddenly make themselves known.
Just for you, Cats!
My first parenting lesson in language development occurred when I would stop at a convenience store to fill up the car’s tank so we could drive the 2-hours to visit family. Back in the day, one could leave children in car seats in a locked car long enough to enter the store to pay for the gas. When I exited the car, I would tell our son that I was going to get gas and would be right back. Each time, I would return with a bag of Cheetos and a bottle of water. Not long after several of these trips, my son asked for “gas” as I got out of the car. SMH. I realized he was requesting a bag of Cheetos... Language development!!
