Asking the question allows you to count both citizens and non-citizens. That’s not an undercount.

Ok we won’t include New York in the census, if New Yorkers want to be counted they can move to PA

““The federal government has a solemn obligation to ensure a fair and accurate count of all people in this country. By demanding the citizenship status of each resident, the Trump administration is breaking with decades of policy and potentially causing a major undercount that would threaten billions in federal funds and New York’s fair representation in Congress and the Electoral College.”

The claim falsely implies (but doesn’t say) that Trump is “demanding” citizenship status and then not counting non-citizens, as if it says “Only fill out this form if you are a citizen”. In fact they are counting everyone and just asking everyone if they are a citizen or not. What they do with that information is another matter and may affect the billions of handouts referred to but that should be litigated later.

Note this is part of a trend of the left not wanting to know something because even just knowing facts threatens their worldview.

A New York judge has an inherent conflict of interest, since the citizenship question might well lead to reduced representation for his state, and thus his DEMOCRAT party. Case should be appealed to a real court, and the judge censured or removed for failing to recuse.

Trump needs to move the Census back to the Commerce Dept....ASAP. CONGRESS is supposed to be in control of the Census. Period.

If we don’t need to know who’s in our country, then the judge doesn’t need to know who’s in his courtroom. He shouldn’t ask witnesses’ names.

Can someone explain the logic behind this butthead's statement? The way I read it, they want all illegal aliens to fill out the census, and be counted, so that federal funds can be funneled to states to pay for illegals; and, they want to count illegals when determining how many electoral votes a state should get? What kind of F'ed up times are we living in when this person isn't summarily dismissed as a lunatic?

Yeah right

The government absolutely needs to know what kind of a flush toilets you have have in your house it knowing whether you are an American citizen, a legal alien or an illegal alien is irrelevant

Federal district and circuit courts of appeal should not be allowed to have jurisdiction over any such matters. The Supreme Court should have original jurisdiction, and then its decision should be subject to separation of powers considerations. Pass the damn law, Congress!!!

No longer should banks check if someone in the bank vault is authorized to be there. Why, that would be bad faith!

Also, never ask the man screwing your wife in your bed if he is authorized. Again, you are showing ghastly bad faith.
