Actually I spelled it wrong. It’s nawab. Generally, a nigh up muckety muck. A person to whom other must pay obeisance. Dictionary:

nawab. [nuh-wob, -wawb] noun. Also nabob. a viceroy or deputy governor under the former Mogul empire in India.
