Q says: “They have it all”. I suspect POTUS already has copies and has let DS know they have copies. DS [RR] is now cornered. It’s only a matter of time. It’s better that those docs come from the source so that they cannot be disputed such as they would be if the POTUS released em. Pass the popcorn...should be interesting.
But if the DS knows that Trump has copies (presumably from NSA or MI or maybe people within DOJ and FBI) then why are they fighting so hard about turning them over? They know that they will have to eventually. I could see them stalling a few months in hopes that Mueller will rid them of this troublesome President, but that time has long passed.
I look at it from the perspective of a litigator. If I have to provide documents to the other side in discovery, and I know that my adversary can get all of my documents from a subpoena to a third party, I am not going to withhold my most damaging documents when I send over the response. If I do, they are going to get the documents anyway, and they will be able to show (in my case to a judge and jury, in RR’s case, to Congress and the public) that I was deliberately trying to withhold damaging information, and after that, I lose any and all credibility I had.
The time to fight is on producing at all. Once production is required, best to give it all up. No one ever said RR and the people he is shielding are the brightest bulbs, though. They are just bullies who have the power of government behind them.
if what we suspect is true, it will truely be hard to take, even for conservatives because we might find out that people who we trusted...Bush,etc..have participated in high crimes...
no one may remember this but Trump said on the Hannity tv show years and years ago that Bush should be in jail.....
