There is a thread about this; the headline is a bit misleading. It is unknown if AZ Gov Ducey has said anything to Mrs. McShame or not.

(Warning: Really mean stuff ahead. Embarrassingly mean stuff) What says “I'm a manipulative quitter” better than finally leaving your elected seat on Independence Day?

Queeg was elected to do a job. He sort of did it, although he seems to have used fraud (or a really bad printer who couldn't tell the difference between “D” and “R”) to get elected.

He gets sick (honest sympathy from a fellow cancer warrior-but I don't have a seat in the Senate) and goes home. Does he do the honorable thing and step aside so someone can do the job the people of his state elected him to do? Oh no, he grasps even tighter (Rosebud!) onto the power he has until he gets his way. He stays home, but doesn't stay out of politics. He uses his illness as a sympathy card, an excuse to rabble-rouse from the sidelines, all with no consequences...cos he's sick, you know. He becomes the biggest nut in the peanut gallery.

After seemingly filing his Final Flight Plan (landing don't count on this one)with God, letting God know when he'll be ready to leave, the Songbird decides to sing, one last time. And what day does he pick for his final performance? Why, the Fourth of July, Independence Day, of course! Because that's the day we celebrate what a great country the USA is.

Naturally, No Name is seeking glory. He hopes some of the heroism of the national holiday will rub off on him. The puppet-master whose been pulling his strings and making sure his every utterance finds its way to the press should be fired (well, they'll soon be unemployed anyway). The optics I'm getting are these:

A United States Senator QUITS on Independence Day.
Keeping true to his pattern of smarmy, self-indulgent and oily actions, he thinks he can make our greatest day of the year all about him.

Think of it...MSM is already scrambling (or had advance notice and is ready) for a full day of “John McNoName, American Zero” coverage. He can have a whole day of almost every news station endlessly singing his praises.

But again, my optics show me a quitter. On Independence Day. Of course, if I still lived in Arizona, I would truly be declaring our independence from him.
