Fog it. I saw a guy fogging a house a few years ago. He used a cheap garden sprayer. He didn’t mask any of the windows. He did the entire two-story house by himself in one day. At the end of the day he wiped the dried film off the window frames with a towel similar to wiping off car wax. It is important to put drop cloths down on any concrete patios because it can stain, but it will only stain porous material. If you’re not sure, you could always try it on a small area first. The material is made by the same companies that make the stucco. In fact, it is essentially the color coat used in the final step of stucco, but without the sand. http://www.lahabrastucco.com/tech-bulletins/common/TB031-ALLEGROFOGCOATANDCOLORMATCHING.pdf

What's the purpose? With sand in it, it sounds like you are just re-stuccoing the walls.

I had stucco for years on 4 houses in Arizona. Never heard of this process. Always painted the old stucco.

I live in Florida now and we have accurete on the exterior of the house. It is like stucco but is made with cement and troweled on to a rough sand finish. Color is in the coating and is permanent. No need to paint it down the road. After 8 years there is no fading in the Florida sun.

Thanks for explaining it.

Tex-Cote life-time coating.

Stucco is a “breathing” substance. It allows moisture to EXIT your house. Conventional “paint” SEALS the stucco and ruins its best feature.

Tex-Cote lasts forever and is “breathe-able”, it allows moisture OUT but not in. More expensive than paint, and much thicker a coating.

Is it real stucco or the new spray on stuff that they have been using for the last 30 years or so?

I’ve painted a couple stucco homes.
One of them 15 years ago, and it still
looks decent. One with a heavy knap
roller, one with an airless sprayer.
The sprayer was less labor intensive.
The step that ensures good adhesion
is to wet down the stucco with water
first. You’ll want it damp, not sopping
wet. The dampness as it dries will draw
the paint into the pores of the stucco.
Hope this helps!

I just listened to a rousing live version of “Not my Cross to Bear” and it helped. Not sure exactly what. But it helped.

Get a missile silo in Nebraska!

Those things are bullet proof.

Lick of paint? Viola!

I have never in my life seen a stucco house that was not painted.

I did not paint the stucco on my last house. I chose a beautiful color like wet beach sand on a sunny day, and left it alone.

You I hope have lots of allman bros t shirts

I met Betts a few times....his guitar tuner was a friend of mine at shows here 2002 or so

Carlos Rodriguez who went on to play with Dickie and many bands as a tuner first then rythym guuitar

Carlos made band t shirts in a warehouse I owned....he would get late but he always paid

One day Dickie called him up and said Molly Hatchet had a years worth of gigs and needed a guitarist for their multi guitar front ...and Dickie had thrown his name in the hat

And off he went....

He’s still out there parlaying I hear

Very nice guy

He was scared of Betts even though Dickie was 60 something then......Betts is like Ronnie Van Zandt....a scrapper

I loved hearing that story.

A part-time employee at my new job played with Wayne Perkins and sometimes he’ll tell me stories.

I usually have to beg him. He’s not talkative at all.
