Hmm. I never considered The Man Who Would Be King anything other than an enjoyable yarn but know . . . I don't know.

Let's see, two British soldiers, Danny and Peachy, march into furthest Afganistan in search of a country to lead and become kings.

I just read that the Masonic angle was not in Kipling's original short story. I assume John Huston added that. A cautionary tale or pulling back the curtain.

Love that movie. I doubted that Alexander had a symbol that was like the masonic symbol, since Mason’s were, as their name suggests, from stone cutting, and the tools would not have been the same in ancient Macedonia. I don’t know one way or the other, but it was a good plot twist.
