I generally agree with you, but there is some evidence that adding very small amounts of baking soda to water can have some benefits; and can help raise blood pH for someone who has a low blood pH.

A widely recommended suggestion is to use 1/2 tsp baking soda to one gallon of filtered water and let it fully dissolve completely, which takes about an hour. Most filtered and bottled water has a pH of 5.5 - 6.0 and raising it up to 7.5 to as high as 9.0 can have some health benefits.

Drinking a glass of water Just after stirring in 1/8 - 1/4 tsp three times per day is just plain stupid and doesn’t accomplish anything and may stimulate more stomachs acid production.

I was diagnosed with metastatic prostate cancer almost four years ago. At that time, my blood pH was 5.0; the bottom of the normal range. My vitamin D3 was also at the bottom of the normal range. While ther is no current cure for metastatic prostate cance, my response to treatment has been far better than most.

There are a number of supplements that CAN slow the progression of prostate cancer when used in additional androgen depravation therapy treatment like Lupron. It’s worked for me, so far.

I’ve discussed the supplements and my addition of very small amounts of baking soda to my drinking water with my oncologist at MD Anderson. He told me that some of the supplements have been shown to help and the others don’t cause harm.

His only concern with adding baking soda to drinking water is the amount of salt intake, but I don’t use enough to make that a factor.

I do have to say that raising the pH of drinking water does make water taste quite a bit better.

As for killing any cancer with baking soda, I am very doubtful. May help a very few number of cancers, but it’s no cure.

Here’s the deal: Take a look at the research on canine bladder infections in older dogs.

The correlation between diet in dogs and humans is far from a leap of faith.

The whole concept in my book revolves around our ‘western diet’ slow-poisoning the populace. I would rather have been 70 in the 1800s than today, all things being equal. With my own health recovery, I am confident that reversal of prostate enlargement symptoms is a harbinger for overall systemic inflammation reduction and significantly-lower risk factors for all of the common old-age diseases, particularly osteoporosis and Alzheimer’s.

Absent a healing regimen and an assigned purpose for doing so, I would have to disagree with ANY ingestion of raw baking soda. There’s a much longer explanation that cannot be easily inserted here, but it has a direct bearing upon Thyroid health, Iodine deficiency and Omega-6 toxicity (to name but a few).

You’ve never had a blood pH of 5.0 or you’d be posting with a Oiuja board.
