USGA had to apologize in 2004 and now on 2018 about US Open Shinnecock conditions.

Seems most are saying it's a few holes that are the big concern. And from what I've seen I can see how it would be a real PITA and costly to some. But everyone is playing the same course even with it's changes over the course of a day.
Like Berger and Finau. They got to go out in the more favorable morning conditions today and scored well. Tomorrow they'll be a lot later getting out.

Overall, it's good to see a tourney where they're scoring near par instead of those ridiculously low scores from some tourneys. But OTOH, they're all playing the same course at those as well.

If nothing else it's been grand entertainment! d:^)

Yeah, I'm 99% certain that when Bret Baier was broadcasting from there yesterday and returned from a commercial, he subtly said that they were at Shi**ecock. The panelists were then each grinning a little bigger than normal as they were introduced. I had to back it up and listen again; yeah, I'm sure that's what he said, lol.
