I used to watch it every 4th of July until my grandson was born on the 4th 5 years ago, and now I spend my 4th at his birthday party for the day. But I love this movie and it’s definitely a classic.

The Dixie Square Mall, near Harvey.

Some friends and a few hundred others watched the filming of the gas station scene on Route 59 with Tiwggy.
The station went up in flames, but not used in the movie.

Yes it’s a real classic. That’s what I told my nephew. It is a must see and I think almost anyone would enjoy The Blues Brothers. Great music. Who wouldn’t love Minnie The Moocher?

Oh I forgot to mention, back in the 80’s my husband bought the same car model that Jack and Elwood had. It was a real beater with a huge engine that was like a jet when accelerating. We drilled a hole in the front of the hood and put on an old Thunderbird hood ornament that was perfect for lifting up that huge hood. The car cost 300 bucks. When we drove that car off the “dealer” lot and asked about a warranty (in jest) he said it lasted until we reached the street. Great car.

I have the LP from back in the day, then got the cassette, and then got the CD. Now that’s a great soundtrack.

Great movie where you can cite dozens of memorable lines. "Got my Cheez Whiz, boy?", "I hate Illinois Nazis", "Oh look, the '81 Oldsmobiles are out", "This mall has everything!", "We got both kinds, we got country and western!", plus Ray Charles shooting a .44 Magnum at a kid trying to steal a guitar on the opposite side of his store, Carrie's salon being called "Curl Up and Dye", Wrigley Field as a fake address, the list is endless.

Another great scene. What a great movie. He does some kind of miraculous flips all the way down the church isle.

Heck I am a woman and I won’t see Titanic. Way too sappy. Back when Titanic was out, I marveled at how women where all into Leo! He was a kid! I thought it was ridiculous.

Ha Ha,,, forgot that line.
The whole movie is full of gems.
Belushi and Akroyd were pure genius in those roles.

A friend and I went to see it the week it first opened-——all we did was laugh when we left———a dreadful movie——and we are both women.

Did anyone mention The Curl Up and Dye beauty salon yet?
Carrie Fisher nailed the crazy ex-girlfriend role.
