One thing I’ve observed in my 6.7 decades on this planet is that whenever—whenever—somebody says that something is “just” something or other—just a book, just a movie, just a song—it is most definitely not “just” that.
I understand why my civil posts have driven you to mouth-frothing, hysterical, caps lock personal insult. To admit that I am right—which I am—would be to admit that you and all your bright, educated friends are dumb asses who totally missed it. If you saw DOCTOR STRANGELOVE when it first came out, perhaps you weren't old enough and/or educated enough to really understand it. OTOH, since many decades have now passed, since then, you should have learned enough and matured enough, to now see it for what it always has been. Sadly, it seems that as the people who didn't hear the beginning of Orson Welles' radio drama, WAR OF THE WORLDS, who therefore truly believed that N.J. was being invaded by space aliens,you and your friends took DOCTOR STRANGELOVE to be a warning a la 1984, or a documentary; an opinion you still avidly cling to.
