I tend to agree with you about someone seeing something. I waited to say anything so I could get hubby’s read on it. He spent 25 of his younger years working on his dad’s boat up in Maine. They fished offshore from Naval bases up there so I asked him the question, “wouldn’t someone else be talking?” His reply was that he was sure some would have seen something but when and where they fished they might talk among themselves but they did not talk to outsiders.
Now, tourists? Regular people driving to work? People coming home? That’s a densely populated area. But, as a rural dweller, I also notice most city people don’t ever look at the night sky. There could be purple monkeys flyin 5 ft over their head and they’d never notice unless the poop hit em.
Commercial fisherman I agree would be tight-lipped. The recreational ones are very loud... ;)
