The order of appeal for this sort of case is to Circuit Court. But Judge Leon has set out in his ruling, a denial of stay pending appeal, giving the parties a huge window of time to close the deal before appeal. He says, in this order, if he was asked to stay pending appeal, he would reject the request.

It's a very heavy handed order. Maybe justified, but still heavy handed.

Could the DoJ or whoever was opposed, could pull some kind of legal trick to stay it until it got to a higher court?
