Neither do I think so; HOWEVER, the parents do not confirm 'serious threatening'. I simply posed a possible answer that addresses this conundrum.

Reading news about his parents’ reactions and the fact that they got a DNC lawyer basically foisted on them, made me think at the time that they must have been threatened.
