As a long time SW fan who always thought the Solo character was extraneous and pointless(not to mention ugly-tho his kid is even uglier) it's only right that a Solo movie would be a legitimate bomb and a failure. If current target audiences have no interest in the 'old' SW and the 'old' characters-what makes Disney think they care about the backstories of those characters? They don't. It's the original fans who have some interest-and Disney wiped its corporate butts with us and discarded us and a storyline that MEANS something to us. Proudly, viciously and unnecessarily. New Coke, baby.
I agree about Rogue One-it had heart and filled in a needed backstory.
