I don't see anyone here disagreeing with the idea of equal justice. I'm saying instead that anything that looks like talking about "executing an ex-president" will lead to gratuitous trouble--even if that talk isn't especially provocative and flows logically from something else, such as the idea of equal justice and applying certain possible penalties in that way.
(And this series of threads has seen enough trouble of other sorts. There were clear recent mentions of having the discussion banned altogether if we posters can't conduct ourselves better.)
