I’ve encountered pit bull religionists and studied them. They’re slippery. Some of them like to make friends with corrupt, drug-addicted junior cops or otherwise try to set their victims up. They’re really vain.
Consider trying to get some like-minded friends trained and armed if possible. Get self-defense insurance (CCW Safe or one of the others). Carry body cams or smart phones, at least, for taking video of a situation. Get trained with any nonlethal weapons that are legal, and carry them (pepper spray, taser or whatever). If legal for you, training, dog anatomy, concealed carry, and consider something less penetrating. 9mm with much early expansion will work, or even .380., in case their are innocent human bystanders.
You get the picture. The owners are like coyotes. Treat them accordingly. Use their vanity. Don’t let them get away.
