She needs to get out of her comfort zone I agree. Charlize is very comfortable around Sean because they have been good friends for years, and will probably get back together after this El Chapo thing blows over, but for all her world travels unfortunately she has never traveled around this country.
I don't think she is rational enough to appreciate folks who are good but disagree with her on politics. This comes from being in the company of a miscreant like Sean Penn all this time.
