NBA Star Slams JJ Watt For Offering To Pay For Funerals Of Santa Fe Victims

NBA star Stephen Jackson went on the offensive against JJ Watt after news of his good deed.

Santa Fe, TX - After the school shooting in Santa Fe on Friday, NFL star JJ Watt said that he would pay for the funerals for all 10 of the people who were murdered in the shooting.

The offer follows Watt raising $37 million for victims of Hurricane Harvey.

However, former NBA star Stephen Jackson found a way to slam Watt for offering to help, according to Total Pro Sports.

In response to the news that Watt was going to personally pay for the funerals, Jackson said on Instagram "Still got all that hurricane bread people donated might as well."

He followed up with, "All that bread PA Texas would have been rebuilt by now if it was sent to me."

Millions of people were hit by the massive hurricane last year, which estimates say caused up to $200 billion in damage, according to ABC News.

When Watt was asked in February where the money went, he pointed out that they could only do so much with so many victims.

"There are 2.3 million people in Houston alone, Kim. I apologize that we aren’t able to reach every single person, it’s simply not possible. We’ve rebuilt homes & day cares, provided food & medical care and our work is far from finished! I promise we’re doing the best we can!!!" Watt posted on social media.

Jackson knows just how far $37 million goes, as he was paid around $68 million during his time in the NBA, according to Sports Illustrated.

When the NBA star made the "most overpaid players" list, he said he was actually underpaid.

"I've been underpaid my whole career," he said, according to Sports Illustrated. "You do the math. It's adding up. Who cares? Whether they think that or not, I'm still getting paid almost $10 million this year."

The number of funerals that Jackson has offered to pay for is estimated to be zero.
