My two favorites were the cougar in the woods between Bloomingdale and Roselle.
Meacham Grove. We walk that one pretty often. Doesnt surprise me a bit. I once saw two Bloomingdale police officers trying to herd a flock of wild turkeys back into that place because they were blocking Circle Ave one afternoon.
I stopped to explain that its not really possible to herd turkeys. I even volunteered to dash home, grab my turkey gun, and take care of the problem. They declined my offer.
So theres plenty of food for a large cat there, and a couple of solid water sources as well. I have no doubt at least one breeding pair has taken up residence.
Best,

Meacham Grove!
Many forms of unusual wildlife can be seen at that location.
Since an evil automobile took my bike and me out(me 20 days Alx Bros, bike KIA) I avoid the highway.
I like the pavement around the reservoir early afternoon, often very few walkers. I can hammer it for an hour or two! NO CARS.
Occasionally there would be a most unusual sight, laying across the walkway on its back, red bikini bottom with a toilet paper roll (???). Next to the parking lot.
Sometimes others would visit and they would walk off and then return? Takes me a couple minutes a lap, gone only a lap or two?
A hairless gorilla, no shirt or shoes, on a 25 degree day making loud calls? I decided to ride the hills across the way in Medinah that day.
I love riding up the hill on the Westside, but the gravel craps up my chain. You may have noticed the homeless(?) camps between the lake and Bloomingdale road.
Once in a while, I’d see the cops running them off.
And one evening as I was exiting behind the Dunkin Donuts, I ran into a posse! They had rounded up a dozen or more druggies. They let me go. I may have been high on endorphins, nothing more.
The DuPage trails have their secret tales
That would make your blood run cold;
But the queerest they ever did see...
Sorry about that Mr Service.
