why is there a “recovery mission” if they already found his dead body?
According to Seattle reporter on twitter, cat was killed and body recovered. 100lb male cougar between the age of 3 and 4. Will be tested including DNA (?). Claims that the biking pair were part of the state DNR.
I had to read that twice too. It seems to me they found part of the guy, but a major part is missing. Perhaps the head. Or maybe they found the head but the body is missing. In any case, I was under the impression that not all of him was there.
The body might be 40 feet up in a fir tree?
Sad. Not much one can do when riding down a logging road (or whatever) and a cougar comes out of nowhere. I guess, other than to just sit on the couch and watch National Geographic.
Although, several years ago they stopped hunting them with dogs and trapping. I’m guessing that their populations have grown.
