I could see a husband making up his own pet name for his wife, especially someone like DJT. And Melania is Americanized. She’s been here for well over 20 years. She may not like the shortened version (Mel). I do not like the shortened version of the name I am known by, which is not my given name, but one my father bestowed on me before I was born.
For all we know, the family uses a variety of names for each each other. I just do not buy the MSM story that Donald forgot his wife’s name or misspelled it (because stupid/uncaring/insane).
