I was watching a documentary about the Somme last night, and read some personal letters about it. Millions of lives affected by those two wars. It’s mind blowing.

Believe it or not, my dad only talked about the good things in his childhood. I had to learn the rest from an aunt, who has now passed. My grandmother also refused to talk about most of it. My dad was a very happy man. He certainly had the right to be aggrieved for life, but he chose to make something of himself and he did. Everyone loved him. Thanks for your sweet comments.
