Everyone here probably knows a few people who will be “gun sharing stations” should the SHTF.
It depends on what you mean by easy. "Ordinary citizens" have to go through background checks and in a number of states, like Illinois, are subject to many restrictions on magazine size, accessories, storage, etc.
It is much easier for the criminals. Maybe they should direct their campaign at getting guns out of the hands of criminals rather than targeting ordinary citizens.
Actually, for criminals who want to use a gun for a crime, then get rid of it right away... they’ll probably have a better record of returns than the Bike Share.
I remember about 30-40- years ago when some anti-gun group gave an “artist” lots of confiscated guns to make an anti-gun sculpture. When he had finished it was put on display, but the “artist” never got paid, even till the day he died, he never got paid.
Interesting. This “protest” will probably help people get more comfortable with seeing guns in public. Could backfire, so to speak ;)

Many years ago, the Phoenix New Times ran an April Fools Day story about an organization giving guns to the homeless.
They assumed that the public, disdaining the homeless, would be horrified at the idea of giving them guns.
What they didn’t count on were all those people who pondered that briefly, and concluded that unless the homeless were mentally ill, or had been convicted of felonies, they had just as much right to be armed as anyone else.
In fact, several noted that the homeless are more prone to being *victims* of violent crimes, so their need to be armed is even greater.
One even observed that as a rule of thumb, if the police found a legal gun owning homeless person, they would automatically confiscate their gun on general principles, and that this was far worse than their being armed.
I actually like this idea.
