Really hard for me to believe they really can FINALLY modernize the IT systems. I was in the contest to design the Department of Defense common language. It was wild man’s land out there in programminglanguageville. The dream was one common language, with a few legacies. You don’t much hear of Ada anymore. In those days, they were emulating older systems that were emulating even older systems. And I remember two government contracts to modernize departments that both ended up having to be canceled after massive expenditures. But I should readjust my head. These are new days. These are Trump Days. Maybe. Just maybe.
Maybe they will put some us older IT people back to work. You know the ones with work ethics that actually have a goal of on time/on budget.
One can only hope they will not use any offshore people and have a leadership team that knows what they are doing.
