All dogs should take a monthly heart worm pill. I buy mine in large orders delivered from Australia and even with the required airfreight cost of $12-13 dollars it is still much cheaper than HeartGard.

Nuheart is the brand I order. It does not require a prescription from the vet...no vet office visit charge for the prescription either.

We order our cats’ medicine from Australia, too. If bought in the U.S. it would require a prescription and be much more expensive.
