HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- A woman is suing United Airlines, claiming she was kicked off a flight out of Houston because someone complained that she had a "pungent odor."
The mother and her children were on a flight to San Francisco in 2016.
The suit says a man in business class told the flight crew that she smelled, and he was not comfortable flying next to her.
According to the lawsuit, the woman, who is Nigerian, believes she was booted because of her race.
She and her children were put on another flight five hours later. United has not commented on this lawsuit.

Our last house we had Pakis move in next door. Among them was an old woman you could smell coming. Not kidding. She touched me on the arm once and I had to take a shower. It was that bad. There’s no way I would be able to sit on the same plane with her let alone next to her.
I had to sit by someone who had flown in from the continent of Africa one time. White dude on business but hadn’t bathed in two days due to the travel.
Reminds mo of a Richard Pryor skit of him going to Africa and giving some local a ride.
That’s the trouble with air travel you cain’t stick your dogs out the winder to cool them down.

Or more likely, the others were suffering in silence, cowed by very idea of complaining about a woman who was foreign AND black. The guy who sat closest decided to pipe up.
And changing coffees? Easier just to change chicks.
What does this Nigerian woman have in common with an NBA player? She showers after 4 periods.

I came back from the Bahamas a few years ago and had to endure the Marsh Harbor terminal at over 100 degrees, followed by a sweaty flight then another trip through Nassau and more sweat. By the time I ran to the United flight going out of Miami, I stunk! I mean sweating, stinky, open the windows stank!
There simply wasn’t a time or place to sponge off.

On my last deployment, we stood outside the plane for 4 hours in the lovely 120 degree heat, and then got to sit in the plane at 100% occupancy without AC for another 3–maintenance issue. By the time we arrived in Germany, everyone was looking forward to gaining some legroom and air, and then the Space A folks filled it up again. We we all disappointed, but I really felt sorry for them having to fly 14 hours in a smelly tin can with 100s of stinky GIs. One of the worst trips ever!
Or she dumped the whole 2 dollar bottle of perfume on herself before boarding.
Reminds me of last week when I was on the subway commuting in the morning and I experienced eau de homeless from one who was sprawled and sleeping across a couple of seats. While the subway wasn’t packed it was crowded enough but everyone was giving the guy a wide berth. I sat a few seats away and while not the worst I have experienced it was um noticeable. The ride for me was half an hour and I was most happy when I arrived at my station and pitying future commuters.
Have you ever sat next to someone who has the stench of cigarettes, sweat, urine, plus over use of a perfume or aftershave to cover it up?

One of the pleasures of flying overseas are the chicken flights...the ones with goats, pigs, and chickens. I had an emergency flight back and sat right in the middle of them for 6 hours. I did have a seat, but I learned about patience that flight.

If that’s the way she sees it ... Then guess who the racist is
A. I am not a chick.
B. You may be right but how would the other passengers know she was foreign? And bottom line the airline gets to decide who rides and who finds other means of transportation. So unless she can show that no other person of another race was ever made to give up a seat for reasons of personal hygiene she does not have a case.
