Deputy Press Lindsay Walters informs the pool the families of the returnees are not on site at Andrews. After coming to Andrews and meeting with the President, the returnees will be going on to Walter Reed for further evaluation and medical treatment. The White House is referring any questions about their medical condition to the State Department.

Thanks. I imagine they want to debrief them and medically examine them right away.

I suspect they were somewhat debriefed on the plane back. Otherwise, they wouldn’t likely allow them to be around anyone to talk to. They tend to want the debriefing to be fresh, immediate, thorough before any other communications with such folks occurs. IIRC.
