As of now Caputo fund’s up to $237,979 vs. its goal of $125,000. I’m proud to have kicked in $100 o that.
He was on Hannity last night and mentioned the go fund me effort. He seemed genuinely thankful. He pointed out that he was in hock to his attorney for $125K, a sum that was more than he earned in any year as he was a Buffolo based upstate NYer.
That is the game these clowns are playing: break them financially. Hiding behind their public service jobs with impunity from suit, they have the power to financially destroy anyone who refuses to go along with the program.

This guy has been a Beltway swamp creature for years, and his legal troubles are really the result of his push to get fellow swamp creature Paul Manafort on board as Trump's campaign chairman in 2016.

With all their financial losses, they might end up with enough deductions to help make up for the 40% tax rate they’ll owe on gifts. Or is it higher for gifts? Whatever it is, they’ll need to raise about double what they actually need. Wouldn’t it be great if they could sue Mule-rear, et al, PERSONALLY, for damages for false arrest, etc.? (NOT the government, then WE’D end up paying for Mule-rear’s dastardly deeds).
He must be in the wrong business. He needs to ask swamp politicians how THEY end up getting rich on their salaries. A new kind of math...?

gifts are not taxable to the recipient - so please don’t speculate and then state conclusions about things of which you have little, to no, knowledge.
The Estate and Gift tax regime is separate from the Income Tax regime. On the other hand, in most case the donors won’t be able to take a tax deduction for these donations.
