Don’t cows and sheep and goats and deer have cloven hooves?

Horses don’t but I’m not eating horse.

I did see a hog kill and eat a chicken that walked through his pen.

Cows don’t have cloven hooves, which is one of the pithy reasons the BLM says they need to stop the ranchers from free ranging their cattle. The cows just stomp the earth down. The other (much more polite, I’m sure) animals with cloven hooves are actually aerating the soil. So, you know, the Rocky Mountain Spotted Gnat won’t go extinct.

Of the beast with the cloven hoof that chews the cud ye may eat (mutton, e.g.) but of the beast with the cloven hoof that chews not the cud (pork) thou shalt refrain.

Of the animal with the uncloven hoof thou may that chews the cud thou may eat (beef) but of the animal with the uncloven hoof that chews not the cud thou shalt not eat (horse).
