On a standard keyboard square brackets don't require the shift key. Simple expediency? Q not using a standard keyboard? Significant?

Q not using a standard keyboard? Significant? I dunno. Probably using some sort of smartphone. Just sayin' it's easier & faster to type if the shift key isn't in play.
