I’ve talked to people from the M.E. who say that the historical cycle is roughly this:
a. evil dictator
b. overthrow by heroic/charismatic leader
c. benevolent rule by that leader
d. death of leader, takeover by son
e. slightly less benevolent, slightly more corrupt rule by son
f. death of son, takeover by grandson
g. grandson becomes next evil dictator.
lather, rinse, repeat.

I may not be able to convince leftists that Trump is a good guy, but I am having notable success in making them doubt the MSM. (That 90 second “fake news” youtube with all the talking heads marching/speaking in lockstep has been a powerful tool.)

I would seriously like to get some proof. I am battling the people at my church who are really into this whole “resettlement” thing. I think it is big $$ for people at the top (and maybe middle?) while the unwitting dupes think they are “caring”.
I object and look like I’m the evil person who hates the poor, who hates refugees, who doesn’t want to give someone a fresh start, who hates the innocent children, and on and on.
Thank you for that sobering post. Yes, we have to step back once in a while and look at the big picture, if we can. Yours is the perfect perspective. Rants are fun, and they let us blow off steam, but this is a process. And we must play our part.
Serious business, unwinding this mess. Imagine President Hillary.
