Amazon (AMZN), Alphabet (GOOG) halted on NYSE because of bug - CNET

The NYSE points to a "price scale code issue" affecting trades. Essentially, the system can't handle stocks with prices over $1,000, according to CNBC. It notes that Amazon, Alphabet and Booking are the three highest priced stocks in the Standard & Poor's 500.

The NYSE issue may not be due to an in-house problem (since they can clearly handle Berkshire Hathaway’s huge price). Perhaps it’s due to an interface issue between NYSE and NASDAQ. The problematic stocks are listed on NASDAQ but recently were made visible on NYSE so that NYSE could be a “reseller”.
