On January 22 [2010], a charity telethon was promptly formed called "Hope for Haiti Now: A Global Benefit for Earthquake Relief." It was the most widely distributed telethon in history, amassing a reported $61 million.

The hosts of the telethon were George Clooney, Wyclef Jean and Anderson Cooper.

It also featured other A list celebrities including:
John Legend, Jon Stewart, Leonardo DiCaprio, Matt Damon, Robert De Niro, Ellen Degeneres and Madonna.

Even Oprah Winfrey told all of her fans to give as much money as possible.

Together they raised hoards of money for the Clinton Foundation, Bush Foundation, United Nations and the Red Cross.

MIAMI, Florida, USA (sentinel.ht) – The former director of the Economic and Social Assistance Fund[1] (FAES), Klaus Eberwein, was declared dead by suicide by the Miami Medical Examiner after his body was found in a south Date motel on Thursday.

Eberwein’s death came during the start of a series of hearings in the Haiti Senate, hearings centered around the use of donor funds, particularly, PetroCaribe funds which come from Venezuela. Klaus Eberwein was to testify in those hearings.

According to YourNewsWire, Eberwein was widely expected to testify of alleged misappropriation of international donor funds by the Clinton Foundation following the 2010 earthquake. While evidence that a testimony on the Clinton State Department and Foundation would have been nearly impossible to predict or uncover, it is not outside the bounds of reality. The Haiti Sentinel could not independently confirm or refute this claim.
