... Immature ...

If an "immature" a$$hole shoots you and you die are you any less dead than if a mature a$$hole kills you?

My parents made such night time walking trips from our suburb house into the city limits of Philadelphia forbidden from that night forward. Yes. Wow. A Christmas memory that never lets go.

A former student was involved in a triple murder. He was sentenced to 3 fifteen-year terms to be served consecutively. He was maybe 19 at the time. He’ll be over 60 when he gets out, having virtually spent his entire adulthood behind bars. I can’t imagine his life after (or if) he gets out. Don’t misunderstand—he deserved the sentence he got (if not more time). The adult who led the killing spree got the needle.

You know what? Going through that list of crimes, and the fact that he was 16 years old, I have to agree with the judge who thinks a 241 year sentence is excessive. Indeed, it's a travesty. Even 30 years is. People serve less time than that for murder.

Yes, there were several serious crimes involved, but I guaran-damn-tee you that a 16 year old white kid would have gotten off much easier. This kind of result provides evidence for claims of institutional racism.

Institutional racism certainly did exist, and to smugly conclude that it magically disappeared is absurd. It used to be that any ridiculous lie by a White witness against a Black defendant was automatically believed. And people wonder why Blacks are hyper-sensitive about issues like this?

I fully understand the "perpetual victimhood" racket that many Black leaders run, but the snot-nosed dismissal of such issues by some Whites is equally bad. If there was a single case of justice being miscarried because of such factors, then all Americans should be profoundly concerned with ensuring that such things don't persist in a nation with ostensible "equal protection under the law"...

What this shows me is the immorality of these plea deals.

Two young men do the same crimes.

One cooperates with the state and gives up his Constitutional rights. The other chooses to have a jury trial.

So, for electing to use his Constituional rights, the one gets 3.5 times the sentence of the other.

Yup...but in that same concert he said at one point something about his visit to Arizona State Prison like...”I talked to the brothers....thank GOD there are prisons”.

That was a classic routine.....

Gene Wilder: “Hey, Rich, what do you think these guys would do to us?”

Richard: “F___ us!”

Gene: “But I’m not homosexual.”

Richard: “Homosexual ain’t got nothing to do with it. They don’t do it because you like it....they do it just to see that look on your face.”

IIRC that was the same performance where he talked about his heart attack.”I had to threaten to take away the kids’ allowance to get them to call me an ambulance!”
